AKIPRESS.COM - All suspects involved in the Koi-Tash events, including former Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev, have been assigned a forensic psychiatric examination, the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry said December 9. Investigation into hostage-taking and mass riots in the village of Koi-Tash on August 7-8 is under way, the statement said. Sixteen persons are suspected of committing various grave and especially grave crimes.
16 suspects, including Almazbek Atambayev, were ordered to undergo a forensic psychiatric examination. The orders were sent to the Republican Mental Health Center of the Ministry of Health.
Koi-Tash events saw storming of ex-President Almazbek Atambayev's house to detain him. The first storming by SWAT soldiers on August 7 left dozens injured and 1 national security task force officer dead. The second storming by Interior Ministry police on August 8 ended with Atambayev's arrest.
