Native of Kyrgyzstan handed life sentence for St. Petersburg metro blast

AKIPRESS.COM - A native of Kyrgyzstan Abror Azimov was handed a live sentence for terror attack at the metro in St Petersburg, RIA Novosti reported. Azimov is suspected of terrorism and plotting terrorism on St. Petersburg metro blast.
Other suspects received 19-28 years in prison.
The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Russia told that Azimov is not a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, as he surrendered citizenship of Kyrgyzstan in 2013 and received the Russian citizenship.
A bomb in a train in the Russian city of St Petersburg killed 14 people and injured 51 others on 3 April 2017. The suicide bomber has been identified as Akbarzhon Jalilov, a naturalised Russian national born in Kyrgyzstan in 1995.
On November 18, 2019 the public prosecutor asked to sentence a 29-year-old native of Kyrgyzstan to life in prison.
