AKIPRESS.COM - Construction of the plant producing fuel assemblies for nuclear plants with the capacity of 200 tons of uranium will be finished in Kazakhstan in 2020, Vice Minister of Energy Aset Magauov told a press conference today, Vlast.kz reports.
The volume of uranium production will be 22,742 tons with 5% growth to the last year, he noted.
Kazakhstan continues keeping a leadeing position on the world market of natural uranium and produces almost 40% of the world output. Meanwhile, unfavorable price environment is observed on the world uranium market, Magauov said.
Therefore, a projects is being implemented for production and sale of uranium products on the base of the Ulbinsk Metallurgical Plant, according to him.
