Turkmen President inspects ongoing construction works across Ashgabat

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip across Ashgabat on Dec 17, the state media report.
President visited the shopping and entertainment Centre, which is being built under next phase of urban development of Ashgabat and paid special attention to the construction work's quality.
The head of state discussed the project's construction and noted that self-sufficiency of organization of urban environment has to be the main principle of further development of the capital.
"It is necessary that the population would have an opportunity to work, study, rest, engage in sports and art, use modern shopping, entertainment and health improvement services, which is in a walking distance," said the Turkmen President.
Berdimuhamedov later arrived at the construction site of new Ashgabat - Turkmenabat highway and inspected the course of construction works and quality of materials used in the construction of the road.
The length of the highway, worth $2.3 billion, will be 600 kilometers.
The project is planned to be implemented in three phases, the first part of the highway Ashgabat - Tejen will be opened in December 2020, the second section, Tejen - Mary, in December 2022 and the third from Mary to Turkmenabat in December 2023.
