Turkmen President to attend CIS Summit in St. Petersburg

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will visit St. Petersburg on December 20 to participate in an informal summit of CIS Heads of State, the official Turkmen media report.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov briefed the President on the preparations for the planned visit to Russia at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on Dec 18.
President emphasized that Turkmenistan will continue to play an active role in partnership issues within the framework of the Commonwealth and gave a number of instructions to the Foreign Minister regarding the preparations for the upcoming working visit to Russia.
Ashgabat hosted the meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries on October 10-11, within the framework of Turkmenistan's CIS chairmanship in 2019.
