Aitmatova's husband arrested until February 20

AKIPRESS.COM - The Pervomaysky district court of Bishkek ruled to take Syrgak Kenjebayev into pre-trial detention center-1 on December 21. As part of pre-trial proceedings, he will stay in the remand prison until February 20, 2020.
Kenjebayev is a spouse of former MP Shirin Aitmatova, daughter of writer Chingiz Aitmatov. Kenjebayev was arrested by the GKNB in Almaty airport and delivered to Bishkek.
Aitmatova is a public activist seen in the anti-corruption protests in Bishkek lately. She said detention of her husband is politically motivated.
