Man detained for attempt to smuggle medicine, gum and perfume from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Border guards at the Chon-Kapka - road checkpoint foiled an attempt to smuggle cargo from Kazakhstan into Kyrgyzstan, the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said.
The Volvo truck with a trailer arrived at the checkpoint from Kazakhstan. The documents provided by the driver said that the truck was carrying sanitation equipment only.
However the checks revealed other goods in the truck that lacked supporting documents: medicines for 1.2 million soms, 1,952 packs of chewing gum Dirol for 585.6 thousand soms, and perfumes.
The total amount of cargo without documents amounted to 1.9 million soms, according to preliminary estimates.
The driver and cargo were handed over to financial police for further actions.
