Russia ratifies agreement with Tajikistan on employment of migrant workers

AKIPRESS.COM - Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on ratification of the intergovernmental agreement with Tajikistan on organized recruitment of citizens of Tajikistan to work temporarily in Russia. The document was published on the web portal of legal information on December 28. The agreement was signed on April 17 in Moscow. It envisions that Tajik authorized agencies will select candidates and check if they meet qualification requirements, provide training if necessary in Russian language and professional training. They will also arrange travel of migrant workers to Russia and their return back to Tajikistan upon completion of their jobs.
The Interior Ministry of Tajikistan will check criminal records of candidates to work in Russia.
Russian employers should ensure safe work conditions for migrant workers and timely and proper pay.
