AKIPRESS.COM - The situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border as of 6.40 pm of January 11 was relatively stable with elements of tension, the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said yesterday. Tajik citizens attackes cars of Kyrgyz citizens with stones in Tort-Kocho area of Batken district, Batken region yesterday. Other citizens of Kyrgyzstan arrived at the scene and the heated verbal exchange followed that evolved into stone throwing into each other between citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The border guards and police forces of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan timely stopped the conflict.
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan blocked Osh-Isfana road, which was unblocked by around 6.20 pm yesterday.
Border units in Batken region are on high alert.
