Man fined for asking 500,000 soms for a position in Kumtor gold company

AKIPRESS.COM - Karakol town court found a man guilty of fraud and imposed 10,000 som fine against him and obliged to pay 235,000 soms of material damage to the aggrieved party, who were told to pay 500,000 soms bribe in exchange for a driver's position at the Kumtor gold company.
The incident occurred in April 2018. The detainee promised a driver's position in the gold firm to a man and asked 500,000 soms for that. The damaged side paid 235,000 soms to the detainee, who has never kept his promises and did not return the money.
Court found the detainee guilty on January 9, 2020 and imposed fine. The detainee pleaded guilty, and now must pay the damaged party 235,000 soms.
