Registration of candidates to run in lower house election starts in Tajikistan

AKIPRESS.COM - The Central Election Commission of Tajikistan today has opened the registration of candidates to run in lower house elections on March 1, Asia-Plus reports. The registration will last until February 9.
All registered candidates will then hold campaigns in their electoral districts.
The Tajik Central Election Commission earlier said each political party of Tajikistan will be allowed 40 minutes of free time on state television channels and radio stations and 20 minutes for candidates from single mandate constituencies.
Political parties and candidates will be able to publish their campaign materials in local press free of charge.
63 deputies of the lower house of the Tajik parliament will be elected, including 41 from single mandate constituencies and 22 from lists of candidates of political parties.
