Facebook to open ‘war room’ in Ulaanbaatar ahead of parliamentary elections

AKIPRESS.COM - Facebook plans to open a ‘war room' in its Ulaanbaatar office prior to the parliamentary elections set for June as part of ongoing efforts to fight false information, Mongolian media report with reference to the communications regulator. The number of active users of Facebook in Mongolia grew to 2.2 million people. This is 70% of population who active use and work in social environment receiving and sharing news.
A ‘war room' will allow its members to discuss issues face-to-face, to make decision on fight against fake accounts and spread of false news.
A similar room will be opened in the Facebook office in Singapore. The office in Ireland and the headquarters will support operation of the Ulaanbaatar war room to monitor the Mongolian segment of Facebook round the clock.
