Uzbekistan to spend over $1.5 billion for health care sector

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 14.8 trillion soums (above $1.5 billion) will be spent for health care sector in 2020, the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan said. Some 1.491 billion soums will be spent for procurement of medicines, medical supplies and equipment this year, this is 36% more than in 2019.
Some $10.6 million will be spent for procurement of medicines and medical equipment for ambulance stations.
Funding for procurement of medicines for patients with cancer was increased to 66.227 soums ($7) a day for each patient.
Some 6,700 soums ($0.7) will be spent for each emergency health calls in 2020.
