$36 million spent for salaries of employees of Baiterek national holding — Tokayev

AKIPRESS.COM - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during the expended session of the government today commented on financing of national holding companies in Kazakhstan. According to him, there are 63 organizations, including 11 subsidiaries with 2,800 employees, in Baiterek national management holding. KazAgro has subsidiaries with 2,000 employees.
The administrative costs of Baiterek in 2019 exceeded 54 billion tenge ($142.3 million), including 24 billion ($63 million) for salaries, the President said.
He said more than 7 billion tenge ($18.4 billion) have been allocated to national holding companies in 2007-2018. "This is a big money. Therefore, the country should see the results," Tokayev said.
The Baiterek national holding is a key financial institute of the government of Kazakhstan, which was created at the decree of the President of Kazakhstan dated May 22, 2013.
