AKIPRESS.COM - 191 cases of escaping from penal colonies took place in Kyrgyzstan in 2019, according to the State Penitentiary Service of Kyrgyzstan.
157 of them were caught. Since the 1990s, the list of wanted persons include 1,029 people.
Penal colony is not a closed institution. The inmates can work and live in their homes, but they must visit the penal colony every day for verification.
