Turkmen doctors barred from using mobile phones

AKIPRESS.COM - Doctors have been barred from using mobile phones during work hours in medical institutions of Ashgabat, the Chronicles of Turkmenistan reports.
The employees are obliged to leave their mobile phones at home or hand them in to the chief physician during working hours.
The reasons behind the ban are unknown. The media assume that this is related to the tightened control over the Internet and information access and relevant restrictions imposed by the authorities.
Correspondents of "Chronicles of Turkmenistan" have previously reported that Turkmen schoolchildren were barred from using mobile phone. Teaching staff are also obliged to switch their cell phones to a silent mode during classes.
