Digital library project launched in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Culture, Information and Science of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Jamankulov at the session of the Parliament on February 5 said a Digital library project has been launched in Kyrgyzstan. According to him, valuable books will be digitalized and they will be placed in the base. A reader will be able to come to library and read the book or download from the base, he said.
All books are transferred into an electronic format, he noted.
Jamankulov said 500 million som were allocated for digitalization of books.
"If our request is approved, relevant equipment will be purchased to digitalize the books," the Minister said.
