Education Ministry teams up with mobile operator to launch Smart School Project

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan will team up with the mobile operator MegaCom to launch Smart School Project.
The ceremony of signing of a strategic cooperation was held today in Bishkek.
The project will be piloted so far in 10 schools of the country. The Ministry of Education and Science will select those schools using certain criteria, Deputy Minister of Education Nadira Jusupbekova said.
The selected schools will receive all necessary equipment for the project from the mobile operator.
The project will have such functions as school access control and safety of children (special chips, wristbands will be used to record the time of school entry and departure and facial recognition function); electronic registry of school attendance and marks; e-library; e-canteen (control of children's meals, menu, card payments for meals); distance learning.
