Uzbekistan to declassify archive materials dated back to 1917

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan is preparing to publicize the classified materials and documents kept in the state archives starting since 1917. The Uzbek Archive and the State Security Service have developed the respective action plan for that.
A group of lawyers and historians will be set up to study every particular document. The documents having no political status will be declassified. These documents will also include the World War II related materials (1939-1945).
The Uzbek Archive said it signed memorandums of cooperation with Russia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Ukraine, South Korea, UAE, Turkey, Hungary. It also established partnership with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council and its museum.
