Locals ask authorities not to prosecute detainees after Kordai massive disorders

AKIPRESS.COM - Residents of Kordai district on Monday gathered near the district center to ask authorities not to prosecute those, who were detained on February 7 following the massive disorders, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported. Some 44 detainees were released according to reports after clashes in Manaschi, Aukhatty and Sortobe villages. Now they are summoned to police again.
Local authorities said they held explanatory works among the population and promised that the investigation will be carried out in line with the law.
Those gathered dispersed after they had received explanations.
It was earlier reported that 25 criminal cases were launched after mass disorders in Kordai district, but the police keep a number of detainees in secret.
