AKIPRESS.COM - The World Health Organization is concerned of a measles outbreak in Kazakhstan, the WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge said as a result of his trip to Kazakhstan, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported.
The WHO appreciates Kazakhstan for covering of the population with healthcare services, including the access to the most necessary drugs and vaccines. However, a number of denials from vaccinations is increasing in the country, Kluge said.
According to him, the reasons for refusals from vaccination are difficult and depend on the context and the Ministry of Health should pay a special attention to this issue, Dr Kluge noted.
Every healthcare system is accountable for establishing these reasons and their elimination taking into consideration the cultural and epidemiological situation, he said.
The WHO will support the Kazakhstani colleagues in this work, he pledged.
