AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan allocated 212.1 billion tenge for education in Jan-Dec 2019, which is 3.5% more than in 2018, Finprom.kz reported.
The main reason for increase of investments in education sphere was the growth of funds from budget by 37.7% (80.5 billion tenge).
Local budgets allocated 74.7 billion tenge for education - 7.4% less than the same period of 2018.
The government last year adopted a state program of development of education and science of Kazakhstan for 2020-2025 to increase the global competitiveness of the Kazakh education and science.
As part of the program, increase of expenditures for science by 1% from GDP is expected by 2025.
The largest volume of investments in education is observed in Almaty and Atyrau region, the least of all is observed in Mangistau, Kyzylorda and Pavlodar regions.
