AKIPRESS.COM - Civil activists Sanavar Zakirova and Madina Kuketayeva were arrested for 5 days recently for going to the Akorda, Vlast.kz reported.
Head of the public association on protection of rights of consumers of financial services Kaganat Takeyeva was also sentenced to 5 days earlier.
Zakirova told journalists that she was not given food and water in a police department. She also claimed that she was tortured there.
About 60 people along with the named activists were demanding a meeting with the head of the Nur Otan ruling party Nursultan Nazarbayev, Speaker of the Senate Dariga Nazarbayeva and Chief of Staff of the President's Office Yerlan Koshanov. Some of the protesters were comlaining on unfair court decisions and the others were demanding to have their loans written off.
A flow of the peaceful rallies started in Kazakhstan from March 2019. More than 4,000 people were detained.
Authorities were repeatedly criticized by the international human rights organizations, in particular, Human Rights Watch, the report says.
