Oil leak being eliminated in Kalamkas field of Mangistau region

AKIPRESS.COM - The works on elimination of consequences of the oil leak from pipelines of the Kalamkas field in Mangistau region are underway, the press service of the JSC Mangistaumunaigaz reported. Today 99% of the territory have been cleaned up in one site, the works are still ongoing in another site.
The oil wastes are being taken out by a contracting organization for further processing, the company said.
More than 486 tons have been cleaned up on February 10-16.
Oil leak occurred on February 8 in the fiberglass axial pipe. Right after revealing of the accident, transportation of oil was switched into reserved pipeline.
