Kazakhstan, Russia to continue talks on Power of Siberia 2 pipeline

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Energy of Russia Alexander Novak appreciated the proposal of Kazakhstan to lay the Power of Siberia 2 gas line through the Kazakh territory, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports as Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nogayev saying. "The talks will continue," Nogayev noted.
According to him, implementation of this project is in the plan yet.
"Certain criteria are not determined yet. There are various ways of supplying gas from Russia to China, and we offered to lay it through the territory of Kazakhsan if it is possible," the Minister said at the session of the government.
Nogayev said Kazakhsan is interested in operation of the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline to gasify East Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions.
The Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan earlier met with the Russian counterpart in Moscow and proposed to consider the opportunity of laying the Power of Siberia pipeline through the Kazakh territory with further joining the West-East gas pipeline system of China.
