Reserves of large fields running out in Kazakhstan — Ministry of Ecology

AKIPRESS.COM - Oil production is decreasing in Aktobe and Mangistau regions of Kazakhstan, Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Mazgum Mirzagaliyev said.
Decrease in oil production by 1 million tons is observed in Kyzylorda region annually, he said.
Over the past decade, large lead and zinc mineral deposits have been developed in East Kazakhstan region, Mirzagaliyev said.
"By 2025-2040, a reserve depletion is expected in a number of large fields including in Orlov, Maleyev, Tishin, Ridder-Sokolnoe deposits," he noted at the government session on Tuesday.
The Minister said the geological exploration should be activated. At least 10-15 years are needed for the launch of the deposit after a new field opens.
