Senate Speaker Nazarbayeva meets with farmers

AKIPRESS.COM - Chairwoman of the Senate of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva during the meeting with representatives of state bodies, agricultural producers and heads of meat processing plants expressed outrage over growing prices for meat and raised the issue of banning export of cattle and its consequences, the Senate reported.
"We should have not only volumes, but also quality and price. But what we have today? Prices for meat are rising in fast face. We have a meet on our market but it is expensive," she noted.
During the discussion, Director of the Kublei LLP Talgat Berekeshev told about the main problems of the processing firms, including underutilization of capacities.
"We should think of how we can satisfy the demands of the population and make the main food products available," Nazarbayeva said.
