One of Bishkek parks named after Cholponai Tuleberdiyev

AKIPRESS.COM - Bishkek local council members approved the assigning the name of Cholponbai Tuleberdiyev to the park in Bishkek on Feb 19. According to the vice-mayor Ulanbek Azygaliyev, assigning the park after USSR Hero Cholponbai Tuleberdiyev will perpetuate his memory. The park with the area of 10 hectares is located in the Pervomai district and bounded with the streets of Tuleberdiyev, Kokchetavskaya, Kok-Sai and Grand Chui Canal.
The issue was considered at the session of commission for toponymy and perpetuation of the memory on Oct 11, 2019.
The park will be opened on April 14 on occasion of Tuleberdiyev's birthday.
The Hero of the Soviet Union Cholponbay Tuleberdiev "closed an embrasure of an enemy bunker with his body on August 6, 1942, thereby ensuring the capture of a strategic bridgehead to perform offensive of the 6th Army of the Voronezh Front.
