Kazakhstan ratifies agreement with U.S. on consular privileges and immunities

AKIPRESS.COM - The Mazhilis members of Kazakhstan ratified the agreement between Kazakhstan and the U.S. on consular privileges and immunities, Sputnik Kazakhstan said.
Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi during the plenary session said that cooperation between the two countries is developing in the expanded strategic partnership.
The agreement regulates issues related to providing diplomatic immunities and privileges to consular officials and their family members, he said.
One of the main areas of cooperation with the U.S. is creation of favorable conditions for employees of the consular and diplomatic services, Tileuberdi noted.
Implementation of the document will increase the effectiveness of representation and protection of interests of citizens of Kazakhstan in the U.S.
The agreement was submitted to the Senate.
