Ecologist says Kyrgyzstan uses old methods in tackling air pollution problem

AKIPRESS.COM - "We are trying to combat the air pollution using old methods, ecologist Dmitry Vetoshkin said on February 20 at the roundtable discussion in Bishkek.
He said a big complex of measures should be developed to fight the smog.
"We use old methods - to install filters at CHPP, to ban vehicular movement with poor quality fuel. All of these can not solve the problem, because a new complex of measures are needed to fight the smog issue," he said.
The ecologist noted that new technological devices should be installed in Bishkek to allow residents to monitor the air pollution level online.
