New Schengen visa code enters into force from February 2

AKIPRESS.COM - Starting from February 2, the new Schengen visa code has entered into force, the Kyrgyz foreign ministry announced.
From February 2, applications can be submitted six months before the start of the trip. Applications should be submitted at least 15 calendar days before the start of the planned trip.
The fee for processing a visa application is increased from 60 Euro to 80 Euro. The fee for children between 6 and 12 years is increased from 35 Euro to 40 Euro.
Additionally, conditions for getting a multiple entry visas are simplified for applicants with a positive visa history. Multiple entry visa validity period will be gradually increased from 1 to 5 years in case when previous visas were used without violations, the applicant has good financial situation in their country; the applicant intends to leave the Schengen territory before the expiration of the visa.
The Schengen visa holders can freely move in 26 countries, 22 of which are EU members, and stay in the Schengen area for up to 3 months.
