932 social employees work in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - There are 932 social workers in Kyrgyzstan, said Vice PM Altynai Omurbekova at the Respublika - Ata-Jurt faction meeting on Feb 21. According to her, each social worker provide services for 11-12 people, in particular they work with senior citizens, disabled people, needed families, children in a difficult life situation.
MP Aliyarbek Abjaliyev wondered on the wages of social workers.
According to the Labor Minister Ulukbek Kochkorov, the wages of social worker varies from 6,500 soms to 7,800 soms. "The wages are small, considering that travel expenses are not provided. The work on allocation of funds for increasing the wages is ongoing with the Finance Ministry," he said.
In addition, 953 employees of local-self governance bodies provide social services, said Omurbekova.
