AKIPRESS.COM - Supporters of ex-President Almazbek Atambayev are gathering near the building of the National Security Committee on Feb 21.
Over 50 people, including MPs Anvar Artykov, Ryskeldi Mombekov, Muradyl Mademinov, gathered in the spot. Majority of them are from Atambayev's home village Arashan.
Previously the reports on deterioration of Atambayev's health due to low blood pressure appeared online. The National Security Committee said Atambayev's health is stable and he is under medical supervision.
Ombudsman's Office representatives visited Feb 20 ex-President Almazbek Atambayev kept in the remand prison of the National Security Committee after reports about his health deterioration appeared in the media. Atambayev had no complaints on the conditions of his detention. Commenting on his health he said his blood pressure has been systematically decreasing lately forcing him to seek for medical aid.
"He has unstable low blood pressure," Director of the National Torture Prevention Center Nurdin Sulaimanov said. Normal blood pressure for Atambayev was 110/70, but today he has 90/70 and 85/59.
Atambayev was detained on August 8, 2019 in the second storming of his house in Koi-Tash village outside Bishkek. Clashes between the SWAT soldiers and supporters of Atambayev occurred in his home on August 7 evening.
The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan stripped Atambayev of his immunity from prosecution on June 27, 2019. Atambayev was accused of illegal freeing of crime boss Aziz Batukayev from prison, concealment of income, corruption, power abuse.
