Governors of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan meet in Batken

AKIPRESS.COM - Batken region governor Alisher Abdrahmanov met with Sughd region governor Rajobboi Ahmadzoda in Batken, Turmush reports. Ahmadzoda congratulated his Kyrgyz counterpart on his appointment to a responsible post and expressed intention in strengthening the friendship among residents of border territories of two states and improving the relations of two region and multilateral cooperation.
Abdrahmanov, for his turn, noted the necessity of joint work on strengthening of Kyrgyz-Tajik friendship and ensuring the stability at the border areas of the countries.
The parties agreed on the continuation of joint work in assisting inter governmental commission of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on delimitation and demarcation of stat border, ensuring the public order at the border areas, as well as prevention of conflicts.
The governor discussed the cooperation plan of Batken and Sughd regions for the next years.
The meeting was held within the work of the intergovernmental commission chaired by Vice PM of Kyrgyzstan Akram Madumarov and Tajikistan Azim Ibrogim on delimitation and demarcation of state border.
