Uzbekistan becomes party to UNESCO Convention on Protection and Promotion of Diversity of Cultural Expressions

AKIPRESS.COM - The UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions entered into force for Uzbekistan on February 15, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India said.
The Convention was signed on 20 October 2005 in Paris and entered into force on 18 March 2007. Uzbekistan ratified the Convention on 14 October 2019. To date, 148 countries have ratified the document.
The main objective of the Convention is the protection and promotion of various forms of cultural expression, the creation of conditions for free communication and the development of various cultures by strengthening international cooperation in this field.
Uzbekistan is taking actions to comply with the provisions of the Convention, including holding of the Sharq Taronalari International Music Festival, the International Poppy Art Forum, and the International Bakhshi Art Festival.
