Kyrgyz Kok-Boru Federation intends to split from international federation

AKIPRESS.COM - The Secretary General of Kyrgyzstan Kok-Boru Federation Kuvatbek Askarbekov commented on the decision of International Kok-Boru Federation to play without taikazans (a ring-shaped earthen wall used as the gate during the goat-dragging game) at the World Nomad Games 2020 in Turkey.
"You took the wrong way and did not develop the national sport. I think, the time has come to split. If you do not want to play with taikazans, then give us the International Kok-Boru Federation and create your own," said the statement of Kyrgyz Kok-Boru Federation.
The International Kok-Boru Federation decided on Feb 22 at the session in Turkey that Kok-Boru tournament will be held without taikazans at the World Nomad Games.
Previously, the State Sport Agency reported that Kyrgyzstan and Turkey signed a memorandum that Kok-Boru game held in accordance with rules of Kyrgyz Federation.
