Military parade to be held in Bishkek on Victory Day

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev held session of the organizing committee for preparations and for celebration the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, said government. During the session, the Prime Minister was briefed on the conducted work on preparations for the celebration of the festive and cultural events in accordance with the approved Plan.
The report on the taken measures to improve the social condition of the WW2 veterans and homefront workers was presented at the meeting.
The session discussed the plans on holding the military parade in Bishkek, erecting the monument to Kyrgyz soldiers in Rzhev city. It is planned to hold the marathon "Fire of Victory", which will kick off in Osh and will end up on May 8 in Bishkek.
Prime Minister recalled that that all war veterans are above 90-years-old and their number is decreasing annually. 380 veterans lived in the republic in 2019 and currently there are 262 veterans.
Following the meeting, Abilgaziyev instructed all the corresponding state agencies to ensure holding of all planned events at the high level.
