Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan reportedly agreed on 23 hectares of land exchange

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have reportedly agreed on exchange of 23 hectares of land, according to Asia Plus Tajik news agency.
The Kyrgyz-Tajik governmental commission on delimitation and demarcation of the state borders met past weekend in Batken under the co-chairmanship of Vice PMs of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Akram Madumarov and Azim Ibrohim.
Asia Plus sources said the parties agreed on that meeting on exchange of 23 hectares of land in disputed border areas.
"It means the long lasting disputes on border issues between the nations are moving forward. The half of the territory belongs to Tajikistan, other half to Kyrgyzstan," Asia Plus reports citing sources.
It was not immediately known what exactly territories are being exchanged.
The meeting in Batken culminated with the signing of the protocol on further cooperation in delimitation and demarcation of state borders. The next meeting on the level of Vice PMs is set for late May 2020.
The government of Kyrgyzstan has not reported on reached agreements.
