Kazakhstan might suspend air travels with number of coronavirus-hit countries

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan might terminate air communication with countries, where more than 10 coronavirus infected patients are recorded, Minister of Health Yelzhan Birtanov said. The Minister recommended citizens to refrain from travels to Iran, Italy, South Korea and Japan. This issue will be reviewed by special commission, he noted.
According to Chairman of the civil aviation committee Talgat Lastayev, quarantine is an emergency measure. Therefore, if Kazakhstan suspends air travels, the airlines will return money for the purchased tickets, he said.
Four citizens of Kazakhstan, including two women and two children, who spent two weeks in the quarantined cruise ship in Japan, returned to Kazakhstan, the Foreign Ministry said.
On February 23, some 20 citizens of Kazakhstan arrived from Japan to Nur-Sultan, including four from Diamond Princess cruise ship. All of them are hospitalized for quarantine.
