AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan will introduce a criminal liability for sexual harassment for the fist time in the history of the country, member of the Mazhilis Nurzhan Altayev told on Facebook, Liter.kz reported. "Mazhilis of the Parliament adopted a draft law on amendments to some legal acts on improving criminal law that was initiated by us - MPs Altayev, Smirnova and Baliyeva," Altayev says in his post.
The bill envisages a launch of the criminal responsibility for sexual harassment, introduction of the definition of "sexual harassment", exclusion of right to parole from serving a sentence by those committing sexual offense, forced chemical castration of those committing sexual abuse against minors regardless from mental state of the criminal, transfer of sexual abuse crimes from public-private prosecution into public prosecution cases.
The draft law was adopted by Mazhilis on February 26 at the plenary session.
