1,083 people came to Kyrgyzstan from China within a month: Vice PM Omurbekova

AKIPRESS.COM - 1,083 people arrived from China to Kyrgyzstan from Jan 21 to Feb 26, including 415 Chinese citizens, said Vice PM Altynai Omurbekova at the parliament meeting discussing the coronavirus situation in Kyrgyzstan. Omurbekova added that 4,600 Kyrgyz students studied in China in 2018-2019 academic year and majority of them returned to Kyrgyzstan following the New Year holidays.
"According to Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, 271 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are in China, 21 of them work there, 14 are there for family reasons and 1 is on personal visit. 77 citizens want to return to Kyrgyzstan," said Omurbekova.
Vice PM noted that a number of people may vary as some citizens travel through the third countries.
