Muftiat comments on proposal to cut number of Friday prayers attendants amid coronavirus

AKIPRESS.COM - The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan commented on the initiative of the Health Ministry's operative team on prevention of coronavirus outbreak in Kyrgyzstan to cut the number of Friday prayers attendants. "It's impossible to prohibit believers to attend the Friday prayers. It is wrong. According to Sheriyat, you cannot prohibit going to mosque. Friday is a day which Muslims are waiting for. We cannot prohibit people to come to prayers. Islam do not oppose the virus prevention. However, it is wrong to prohibit people to attend prayers because they may get infected with coronavirus," the administration said.
The Spiritual Administration have not received any letters yet.
The press service of Russian Orthodox Church in Bishkek also reported that did not receive any orders or letters.
