AKIPRESS.COM - The Air Astana company expressed concern over restrictions of flights between Kazakhstan and South Korea, zakon.kz reported.
The decision was taken on February 26 by a special commission on the prevention of coronavirus outbreak on the territory of Kazakhstan.
According to the decree, some flights between Almaty and Seoul will be reduced from 5 to 1 flight a week and from 2 to 1 flight a week between Nur-Sultan and Seoul.
The airline says that about 17,000 passengers had booked tickets at a moment. The company says the decree does not take into consideration this fact.
Most passengers are citizens of Kazakhstan that fly to South Korea for medical services, including for the treatment of cancer diseases. In this regard, the company says a reduction of flights is inappropriate.
The Air Astana appealed to the commission with the request to reconsider the decision and allow the airline to correct the schedule itself to avoid panic among passengers.
