AKIPRESS.COM - The Asian Development Bank is reviewing its projects in Tajikistan, Avesta reported.
ADB mission arrived in the country to discuss implementation of the joint projects with the Tajik government, according to the State Investment and Property Management Committee.
The main goal of the joint review is analysis of implementation of the joint investment projects, assessment of performance of project implementers, monitoring of effectiveness of the results, identification and solution of problems that may affect the projects.
The mission will last from March 3 through 10. The joint meeting with all implementing agencies and line government agencies will be held upon conclusion of the mission.
The Asian Development Bank remains Tajikistan's biggest donor, which provided $1.8 billion in financial assistance to the country. The bulk of the assistance was provided in grants. In 2019, the ADB approved a grant to support tourism development. The Bank plans to provide around $400 million in financial assistance in 2020-2022.
Tajikistan's debt to ADB made $259.1 million at the beginning of this year.
ADB finances projects in transport, energy sector, agriculture, health care, education and urban development.
