Uzbekistan may join Eurasian Economic Union as observer

AKIPRESS.COM - The Uzbek government discussed the conclusion and suggestions on cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union following analytical comprehensive review that will be submitted to the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan, UzA reported. The comprehensive analysis considered 16 major economic sectors.
The government also considered findings of the analytical work by independent think tanks and consulting agencies, research institutes on major economic sectors, industrial policy, customs tariffs, labor migration, standardization and veterinary, sanitary and phytosanitary control.
The Uzbek government decided to apply for EAEU observer status and will submit the respective resolution of the Legislative Chamber for consideration.
