Two activists fined for participation in march for women’s rights in Almaty

AKIPRESS.COM - Two activists of the feminist organizations, Arina Osinovskaya and Fariza Ospan, were fined after the march for women's rights on March 8 in Almaty, KazTAG reported.
Almaty administrative court judge Nurjan Muhamedjan ruled to collect 53,020 tenge fine from Arina Osinovskaya for participation in the unsanctioned rally. The activist was also fined for burning the funeral wreath at the Jambul Jabaev monument. The court saw this act as hooliganism. Arina Osinovskaya will also have to pay 18,557 tenge fine for lack of temporary registration at the place of residence.
Fariza Ospan was fined for petty hooliganism.
The march for women's rights was held on March 8 in Almaty. The organizers of the march did not obtain a permission from local authorities to hold it, for this reason it was considered as unsanctioned. Almost 60 partook in the march.
