Uzbekistan, JICA review investment projects

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan and Japan International Cooperation Agency reviewed the current portfolio of investment projects and identified steps on future projects, Dunyo news agency reported.
Since 1993, more than 80 projects for $230 million were carried out. Uzbekistan is on the 8th place on the scope of assistance and the 10th place in utilization of grant assistance among all partner countries.
Some 2,300 specialists of Uzbekistan attended JICA internship programs, around 350 JICA volunteers worked in Uzbekistan.
During visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in December 2019, the new long0term cooperation program for more than $3.5 billion was signed, which included projects in energy sector, modernization of industry and agriculture, health care, etc.
Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov confirmed the intention of Uzbekistan to deepen and expand cooperation in energy sector, health care, human development, infrastructure.
