Russia to ban flights with EU countries over coronavirus fears

AKIPRESS.COM - Russia will ban passenger flights with the EU countries from March 16 due to coronavirus situation in the world according to special office for combating coronavirus, RIA Novosti reported.
"To ensure security of the country, protect public health and prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in Russia, the national office for prevention of coronavirus outbreak decided to temporarily ban passenger air traffic from 00:00 a.m. on March 16, 2020 Moscow time: from the territory of the Russian Federation to the territory of the European Union countries and in the opposite direction, " the statement says.
Russia preserves regular flights from Moscow to the capitals of the European countries and in the opposite direction, as well as charter flights for returning of Russians to homeland.
