AKIPRESS.COM - The number of people who fell ill with infectious diseases in Mongolia has decreased in March 2020 compared to same month last year, news.mn reports.
According to statistics, the number of people falling ill was 3-3.8 percent lower than in March 2019.
In spring, there are outbreaks of infectious diseases such as flu, pneumonia, meningitis, chickenpox and dysentery due to a weakening of the immune system of the local population. The Health Ministry sends short messages daily reminding people to wash their hands regularly, wear masks and avoid public gatherings so as to prevent catching coronavirus.
There has only been one confirmed case of coronavirus infection in Mongolia. This is of a 57-year-old Frenchman who brought Covid-19 into the country. He is now under treatment in the National Centre of Communicative Disease and is recovering.
