AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev ordered to send up to 70% of workers of government agencies and quasi-public sector to work from home.
Up to 70% of workers of public and quasi-public sector, except for workers of public utilities companies, law enforcement agencies, certain media organizations, security agencies, should switch over to remote work, Tokayev said on Twitter.
Remote working is also recommended for private companies, the President stated.
Kazakhstan declared the state of emergency since March 16.
Nur-Sultan and Almaty will be locked down from March 19 after 32 Covid-19 cases were confirmed. The cities can be entered only with special passes. Security checkpoints and roadblocks will be set up around the cities. Food products and medicines will be supplied through green corridors.
Kindergartens will be shut down. Schools are on earlier vacations. Universities switched to online learning.
The work of public transport will be restricted in day time and may be stopped at night.
